Kevin Herron

Head of Advice & Technical

1. Your professional background
My first job in the financial services industry was working in the Group Pensions department with Clerical Medical in 1998. Since moving to the South East in 2001, I’ve worked with several financial advice firms in admin, advisory and technical roles. I am Chartered Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and I am currently working towards obtaining Diploma status with the Society of Trusts & Estate Practitioners (STEP).

2. Specialist areas of interest and expertise
Pensions and estate planning.

3. Why did you join Buckingham Gate?
I joined the company in 2014 when the business was in its very early stages, and really wanted to work for a company that wasn’t constrained by old ways of doing things. Many firms have quite rigid processes and I wanted to have more of an input into how things were done.

4. When not at work, you like to?
When I’m not running around after my teenage children I spend my free time reading, watching movies and following the fortunes of Harlequins and Tottenham Hotspur.

5. An interesting fact about you?
Prior to my financial services career, I once spent a term lecturing 1st year nurses on Anatomy & Physiology.
